Abiding in Scripture: Week 7

15 Oct

Well we have ended the first section of verses, now we start a new section.

This week, we will be memorizing Psalm 16:11. It’s a verse that reminds us of the pure joy we receive from God and his presence.

Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Memorize and abide in this verse this week!

Abiding in Scripture: Week 6

8 Oct

Hey everyone. We’ve been memorizing scripture together for one month and a half now and I feel like God is really using this program to draw us closer to Him.

Since it’s the first time we memorize scripture together and we’re on our sixth week, I think a review week is in order.

So for this week, there will be no verse to memorize, but we must go over the last verses from the previous weeks and make sure that we know them perfectly well. If we don’t go over verses, we might forget them so make sure you take full advantage of this week.

Abiding in Scripture: Week 3

17 Sep

Alright everyone, we are two weeks into this program. Let’s make an effort to abide in God’s word.

For the past two weeks, we’ve been memorizing Psalm 73:25-26. This week, it’s a verse that Jesus himself said to the crowds of people who were following him and asking him questions.

This week’s scripture: John 6:35

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”

Let’s never forget that we don’t thirst or hunger when we go to Jesus. He satisfies everything. So make sure you don’t go to anything else because you can have Jesus.

Abiding in Scripture: Weeks 1-2

3 Sep

Hello everyone,

Our youth group has started memorizing scripture every week. It’s not going to be easy, but it’s a very important part of being a disciple of our Lord Jesus Christ. We must abide in God’s word.

Every week, we will be memorizing a different passage of the bible. We will be, more or less, following the Fighter Verse Program that Bethlehem Baptist follows (John Piper’s church). Here’s the link to all the fighter verses if you’re interested. If you want to memorize the verses along with us, go to the “Scripture of the Week” page on the top right of our site.

This week’s scripture: Psalm 73:25-26

Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

May the word of God abide in us and may we abide in it for His supreme glory.
